An established, tried-and-true process.

During our decades of experience, we established a 6-step process to keep your website project on track. This process, combined with the tools and services we use, helps keep things moving while also allowing for some wiggle room, when needed.

We start by learning about your project, then establish our standard framework to lay the foundation. From there, we work with you to prepare the site’s content, then continue into the design and development processes. Finally, we can celebrate after launching the new site and perform final quality control tasks.

Step 1

Discovery & Onboarding

We need to get to the bottom of who you are, what you do and why you do it. Only then can we begin to create a design that portrays the value you offer in a way that resonates with the people who matter: the people you want to do business with.

1
  • You’ll submit our Discovery Questionnaire so we have a good initial understanding of the overall project.
  • We’ll meet (either in-person, virtual meeting or phone call) to discuss website goals, navigation workflow, content, and general methodologies.
  • We’ll talk about overall layout, style, colors, fonts and other design aspects. We can share examples of other websites to make sure we’re in agreeance before design begins.

Step 2

Project Framework

It’s important that we have the basic framework and styles determined in advance, as they play a huge factor in the overall design and layout.

Please note that action will be required on your part in order for us to progress beyond this step.

2
  • Based upon our discussions in Step 1, we’ll provide you with an outline of the site content needed (if applicable) and assemble the core typography and styles to be used throughout your website.
  • While you’re preparing content (if applicable) and reviewing the styles above, we’ll work on getting the base framework established. This will include the connection to your Client Dashboard, our reviewing system, and other core configurations.

Step 3

Site Content

This step is critical to keeping the project on track. You are responsible for providing the site content to us in advance of any design work. The reason for this is because we need to know what we are working with before design.

3
  • You’ll need to provide site content to us, unless we are writing it for you. If we are providing this service, we may need to schedule time(s) with you to review the content and make revisions before proceeding.
  • If you are preparing your own content, we’ll review it once you’ve provided it to us. We check it for grammar, spelling, readability, SEO and other concerns — we’ll provide recommendations, if needed.

Step 4

Initial Design

It would be a shame if we designed and built your entire website, only to find that you were not pleased with our choices. The purpose of this phase is to give you an opportunity to review the design before we continue.

4
  • We’ll create designs for the homepage and at least one typical internal page and send them to you for review. This part of the process is mostly about overall design and layout, but you will also be able to provide feedback on the content, if you wish.
  • This is where you’ll have the opportunity to review our design concepts and provide feedback. Don’t be shy! We want to know what you are thinking so you will be happy with the final product. Your approval is required before continuing.

Step 5

Development

Now that we have your design locked-in, we can continue constructing the rest of the website.

5
  • This is where it gets really exciting (for us)! We’ll take your content and feedback and use it to build your new website.
  • As with the Design step, we’ll need your review and feedback. Please take your time to review every aspect of the website and provide detailed comments. Our review tool will help you with this. We want you to be happy with the final product, so this is a critical step.

Step 6

Launch!

The launch process is a carefully considered one. We need to ensure that email addresses continue to work, the site has minimal downtime, any old links are re-directed to the new pages and several other important items.

6
  • We’ll determine the best time to launch your new website and coordinate with you. We typically try to launch new sites on evenings and/or weekends, or when your website tends to have less traffic.
  • We perform due diligence to help make the launch smooth and quick. Your website is then launched on the scheduled date. Woo hoo!
  • Check, double-check, and check some more. Now that we’re live, we’ll run your website through several tests to make sure things are running smoothly.

What our clients say about us

“Wendell, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for a truly magnificent job. You really listened and made everything we wanted possible. I don’t think any of us believed we would be able to have a website that looked amazing and did so much.”
