Revitalizing MVCC’s Online Presence: A User-Friendly, Modern, and Dynamic Website for a Growing Company
In 2015, a fresh commercial construction company emerged in Salem, Oregon, called Mid-Valley Commercial Construction (MVCC). As the company set out to make its mark, they required a website to launch their new venture. We were fortunate enough to have previously built a website for the wife of one of the co-founders, which led to the opportunity to create a website for MVCC.
Initially, the website we developed was primarily a brochure-style platform, showcasing a few of their projects alongside basic information. This simple design worked well to establish their online presence, and as the company grew, we were asked to make updates to the projects page and add news articles.
Fast-forward to 2022, MVCC experienced significant growth and recognized the need for a more sophisticated website. The eight-year-old design required modernization to align with current web design trends. Equally important, MVCC wanted to give their hardworking employees the recognition they deserved and enhance their project showcase, particularly since they were now handling multi-million dollar projects.
The revamped website now boasts improved mobile-friendliness in terms of usability and speed. Despite the abundance of images on the pages, we’ve optimized them for all devices, ensuring a fast-loading and enjoyable browsing experience.
The updated Projects system empowers MVCC employees to manage project listings independently. An archive page presents each project in a grid format, complete with categorical filters above. Users can click on individual projects to access more detailed information, including additional photos, descriptions, budgets, locations, categories, tags, and other relevant data. The photos are displayed in a gallery style, with the option to enlarge and scroll through them.
As for the Team page, we designed a comprehensive archive page displaying all employees and linking to their individual biographies. Team member listings can be effortlessly managed by MVCC staff.
Additionally, we have incorporated legal pages for Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Accessibility Statement. We’ve also integrated accessibility features into the website, which we’ll continue to enhance while hosting and maintaining their site through our Website Management Plan.
